On the 2nd October, whilst on an altered course to avoid Hurricane Joaquin, the Henrietta PG rescued 8 crew members from the sinking MV Amazing, a 57 foot cargo vessel which sank off the coast of Puerto Rico. The crew members had abandoned the vessel and were adrift in a small work boat with only a small hand held torch to aid their rescue (No VHF radio). In force 8 winds with sea and swell to match, they were extremely fortunate that at 0500 AB Jason Trim noticed the torch light. After making two passes to establish whether or not the light was from a fishing boat the Master sounded the general alarm, before swiftly rescuing all 8 crew members. Compliments to the ships staff for another excellent rescue.
